The Saalim Ismail Foundation was established in 2020 during the trying time of the COVID-19 pandemic and national lock-down where it greatly impacted the arts and entertainment industry and our youth on a large scale, placing an immediate halt on their careers and education.

It is through the relatability to their situations that we foresaw a huge cry for assistance in helping their careers get back on track and the confusion our youth are faced with trying to find a direction to venture into to build a sustainable career for themselves.

Our mission is to empower and guide those aspiring independent entertainment professionals, and those already operating within the arts, music and entertainment industry and youth to build sustainable careers in their chosen career path through special programs conceptualized for them.

The We Are Survivors Project (W.A.S) is an initiative birthed during the COVID-19 pandemic and national lock-down bringing together independent entertainment professionals and creatives in South Africa to unite on one track to spread the message of hope, unity and equality to our communities, country and the rest of the world through the universal language of music on an 021 award and City Award winning anthem written and composed by South African music artist Saalim Ismail called “We Are Survivors (Singabasindileyo)”.
